This is, hopefully, a helpful guide for people to get verified info to fill out the DEFRA survey. The survey needs to be submitted before 25th October.
The survey is online - see "Give Us Your Views" here (near the foot of the page): https://consult.defra.gov.uk/agri-food-chain-directorate/national-food-strategy-call-for-evidence The first 10 questions are asking about who you are and other details. As an OAP I didn't get to see what questions 11-18 are. Questions 19 onwards are the ones this "guide" can help you with. You can use general thoughts - e.g. HEALTH "a whole-food plant based diet is much healthier" or CLIMATE "animal agriculture and fishing is so destructive to the planet". Here are a few unsourced statements to use. However, it helps to have some references with citations. (20 should keep you under the 1000 word limit.) When you have some links arranged on your document (perhaps a Word file or a Notepad) then you can cut and paste to upload the lot, with your wording, to an email or the appropriate box on the online survey.
